Will music help to soothe my anxious dog?

I was amazed to find that Spotify have ‘Dog Calming’ playlists. It is a thing!

To determine the most effective music for your dog, you can try playing different genres and observe their response. Pay attention to their behavior and body language. If they seem more relaxed and exhibit signs of calming, such as slower breathing or a lower heart rate, then the music is likely helping them.

Of course, if they get up and start dancing – then maybe you’ve not chosen the right kind of music!

Why Does my Dog Sleep Better with the Light On?

It may sound crazy but after countless nights of disturbed sleep due to my dog barking (sometimes non-stop), I have finally worked out that he sleeps more soundly when I leave the light on. As I said that may sound crazy, but it works for us!

I think it all begin for Riley when the foxes first arrived. He had been a fairly calm Border Collie up until then, but once they came on the scene, he changed. Whenever they are around he will pace up and down the fence line barking at the top of his lungs – and if you aren’t familiar with Border Collies their bark is pretty loud.
